Description
The maxim of the three wise monkeys, perhaps better known through the phrase “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”, is a principle that developed in Medieval Japan as a tool for understanding how we can protect ourselves against the spread of negativity in our lives from both internal and external sources. But when we are surrounded by so much noise, disruption, and uproar every moment we are conscious, are we doing ourselves a disservice by refusing to see, hear, and talk about the things that we are troubled by? By turning our heads and minds the other way and pretending as if the balloon is not deflating with every breath we take? Where exactly is that sweet spot between losing your mind because of it and finding some semblance of peace in the storm… or between avoidance and acceptance? I want to find it, learn how to call it a friend.
The seated judge sees, the standing jury listens, the silenced executioner kneels and speaks,
“How do you find your peace?”
