Invertebrate (Animation)

INVERTEBRATE - A beautiful alien, fluid, formless, and dynamic. The result of hours of tweaking 568 separate chaos fractals, each generated individually, then rendered, then composited one by one - frame after frame - to create the illusion of movement in an animation, Invertebrate spawned from an idea of mine in May 2024 to try and imagine a dynamic tattoo; one that lives, breathes, and moves. Liquid and fluid, it is the offspring of both moving ink and life itself.

My first formal multi/mixed media project, Invertebrate meshes tattoo design with image/object rendering, modeling, and composite video creation. Set to the song abundance10edit[2 R8’s, FZ20m & a 909] by Aphex Twin (Richard D. James), the work moves in response to the push and pull of the electronic melody.

A project that has truly pushed my limits to this date, I am very proud and happy to be able to present and show it off! I hope you are able to appreciate the love and labour that has gone into its creation.
